Welcome to the Master Teachers of Maine (MTM) Mathematics blog site! This blog is intended as a forum of support for teachers and administrators registered as members of the MTM Program, an intensive training project funded by the Maine Dept of Education, in collaboration with "I Get It!" Math. This partnership represents an initiative to significantly raise mathematical competency in Maine by supporting teacher growth through robust learning communities and training efforts.

Hey Charlie,
I figure they will empathize with us, perhaps they could addist us:):):) ina
I am sorry......the word "addist" should have been assist:):):) LOL
I have to add in 2 more cents here....
Just as we heard today about children knowing algorithms without benefit of real understanding of the underlying concepts.... many young computer users are what I call "Lucky Clickers."
They have no fear.... so they click away until they get what they want on a screen... or they get stymied and change applications, or quit and walk away.
When it comes to understanding how a computer functions, in order to troubleshoot or problem-solve.... you frequently hear:
"Teacher! I need help! The computer won't DO what I want it to!"
:-)
